| The
Heart of Provence
La Tauperie is located approximately half way
between the picturesque ancient villages of Fayence and Seillans.
It is around 35 minutes by car from the coast at Cannes, an
hour by car from Nice Airport and two hours from Marseilles.
The villa is located down a private cul-de-sac and enjoys
truly panoramic views over the plain towards the coast and
the Esterel mountains. It is south facing and so enjoys the
best of the sunshine throughout the day, often followed by
brilliantly colourful sunsets in the evening.
Fayence and Seillans are typical Provencal villages,
well served with small local shops and restaurants. While
the hot-spots of Cannes, Antibes, St. Tropez, Juan Les Pins
and the other fashionable resorts of the Cote d’Azur
are all within easy reach, the coast gets extremely busy in
the summer and those who prefer a more leisurely environment
may prefer to explore the wooded hillsides of the Esterel,
the lakes of St. Cassien and St. Croix, the spectacular gorges
of Verdon, or the many charming hillside villages such as
Mons, Callian, Bargemon and St Cezaire.
Tennis, horse riding and many water sports
can be arranged locally and the area is well served with marked
footpaths for both serious and recreational walkers. Golf
is available at St Endreol (Le Muy - about half an hour’s
drive) and the fabulous Terre-Blanche at nearby Tourettes.
Fayence itself is a famous gliding centre offering trial flights
for beginners as well as a truly spectacular gliding environment
for experienced pilots.
